Sustainable Fashion Campaign
Fall 2024: ENGL-1120, English Composition II
My Role
For this project, I was tasked with creating a Public Awareness Campaign to teach the public about an issue that is not widely known about.
Objective
Our projects were to consist of three parts: the Campaign Brief, Campaign Kit, and Campaign Materials.
Campaign Brief: The Campaign Brief serves as the internal document for the organization. It provides background and context, and helps put everyone in the organization on the same page about the campaign’s purpose, objectives, message, and audience, and provides a concrete document to refer to.
Campaign Kit: The Campaign Kit also serves as an internal document for the organization, providing the necessary background and context for the campaign. It also tells everyone in the organization about the specific aspects of the audience each campaign material is intended to reach and how the materials will reach those audiences.
Campaign Materials: For our Campaign Materials, we were tasked to create 4-6 campaign materials described in the campaign kit. These materials were to reach the primary audience described in the campaign brief and kit, and our purpose was to raise awareness about an action they can take, an attitude or belief they can modify, or a service they can access.
Strategy
Sustainable fashion is something I prioritize, so I centered my campaign on teaching the public about the effects of fast fashion and actions they can take to lower their impact. I chose to design the following materials for my campaign: a sticker/campaign button, an Instagram post, a billboard, a website, and a fact sheet.
The Work
Results & Takeaways
Creating different designs across multiple types of media helped me see that a major factor in marketing is brand consistency. While I was designing media that portrayed varying information, they all had to tie into the overall strategy and look as though they were part of the same campaign.
